Flamingoes on the Beach
The Flamingoes are attracted to the Lake Nakuru because they feed on algae
which thrive in its alkaline waters. The Flamingoes get there pink
coloration from the algae. The water is so alkaline that the Flamingoes
cannot drink it! They must fly to another lake to drink and bathe.
